Assessment Criteria

4th Grade Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinical Education Student Measurement and Evaluation Principles

In order to be successful in the clinical education within the scope of 4th Grade Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery, the following conditions must be met:

1. The conditions in our faculty's teaching and exam application principles must be met.
2. Attendance at least 80% in Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery clinical education must be maintained.
3. Actively accepting patients during the clinical education and performing the procedures deemed appropriate by the responsible faculty member, especially tooth extractions, as many as the number announced at the beginning of the term.
4. At the end of the clinical education, a measurement and evaluation exam is performed on at least 1 patient regarding the practices specified in Article 3.
5. The student must record the practices he/she has performed during the application period on his/her report card (4th Grade Student Application Report Card) and obtain the signature of the responsible faculty members.
6. During the clinical education, measurement and evaluation are performed by the responsible faculty members using the relevant student evaluation form and feedback is given.
7. Students must receive a minimum of 30 points in total, with at least 3 points from each of the criteria specified in the student evaluation form, to receive a passing grade in the practice exam.

8. Students who meet the continuity criteria but fail the evaluations are re-evaluated by re-attending clinical education on the dates announced by the dean's office.

9. The success score of the clinical practice course is formed by combining the midterm exam grade and final exam grades in the ratios specified in our faculty's education-training application principles. In order to be considered successful, it is mandatory to receive the minimum points specified in the principles.

The midterm exam score is created by evaluating the discipline, order, behavior and communication criteria in the clinic (out of 60 points) with the full and complete implementation of the applications specified in Article 3 (40 points).

The end-of-term exam score is determined by the exam administered at the patient's bedside. 40 points of this exam are scored according to the principles in the clinical observation form 2, and 60 points are determined by evaluating the discipline, order, behavior and communication criteria during the exam.
