Course Objective

1. Gaining the ability to distinguish between normal occlusions and malocclusions in the clinic
2. Gaining the ability to perform preventive and interceptive orthodontic treatment
3. Gaining the ability to diagnose malocclusions with their causes
4. Learning the correct treatment timings of malocclusions
5. Understanding the importance of TME stability in orthodontic treatments
6. Gaining knowledge about different application methods of orthodontic treatments, multidisciplinary treatment approaches and modern orthodontic treatment methods

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 1.Taking impressions
2 2-Arranging the necessary measurements in the patient's cephalometric X-ray
3 3-Performing Bolton and Hays Nance analysis based on the measurement taken from the patient.
4 4-Bending of the retaining elements of the appliance.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1- The practical course will be given to the entire class in groups
2- Each group will receive a total of 4 weeks (80 hours) of practical training at the orthodontic clinic throughout the academic year.

Assessment Criteria

1- Be present in the clinics with the necessary training materials for each class before the lesson.
2- Ability to create and apply commonly used removable orthodontic appliances, and to prepare case presentations.
3- Ability to diagnose orthodontic anomalies.
