Course Objective

To teach patient examination, treatment planning, removable and fixed prosthetic treatments, materials used, and properties of ideal prosthetic restoration in prosthetic dental treatment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows the acceptable clinical form of prosthetic restoration.
2   Recognizes the problems arising from existing restorations.
3   Knows the types of movable and fixed restorations and application principles.
4   Knows the effects of prosthetic restoration on stomatognathic system
5   Solves problems arising from existing restorations.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1. The practice course will be given to the entire class in groups.
2. Each group will receive four weeks (eighty hours) of practice training in the prosthetic dental clinic throughout the academic year.

Assessment Criteria

1- Should be able to create prosthetic treatment planning by performing radiographic and clinical examinations.
2- Should be able to perform mobile and fixed restoration types and application stages
3-Should be able to recognize the problems arising from existing restorations
4- Should know the effects of prosthetic restoration on the stomatognathic system.
5- Should be able to explain the solutions to the problems arising from the existing restorations.
