To teach the causes, pathogenesis and epidemiology of periodontal diseases, to teach clinical and radiological findings and diagnostic methods of gingivitis and periodontitis. To teach clinical examination of periodontal tissues, to teach techniques, tools and instruments, index systems used in clinical and radiological periodontal examination, to evaluate periodontal prognosis.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1 Lists the mechanisms in the pathogenesis of periodontal disease
2   2. Lists the diagnostic criteria of periodontal diseases and classifies the diseases.
3   3. Classifies gingival diseases, distinguishes different gingival diseases
4   4. Classifies periodontitis, distinguishes different types of periodontitis
5   5. Counts the clinical periodontal examination steps, determines the prognosis according to the examination findings, counts the treatment steps in order
