Course Objective

Camera Obscura, Alaminut machine and Pinhole design and construction as an individual design, apart from the standards and conditions of the photography technology and industry; Material recognition and research, waste material research and evaluation in this design and construction process. To investigate the position of the works in this context in Photography History, to know the works of the relevant artists, to use them for material selection and design.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to define the nature and features of the photographic image.
2   Will be able to critically investigate alternative and analog image production techniques.
3   Camera Obscura will recognize its structure, types, features; Camera Obscura will be able to work on design and material selection.
4   They will be able to recognize Pinhole Camera its structure, types and features, and will be able to work on Pinhole machine design and material selection.
5   They will be able to recognize Alaminüt Camera its structure, types and features, and will be able to work on Alaminüt machine design and material selection.
6   They will be able to critically define the place of these image production tools and techniques in Photography History and their position in Contemporary Photo Art.
