Course Objective

To understand the pregnancy physiology in pet species, the potential pathologies that may occur in the mother and offspring during pregnancy, the hormonal mechanisms, physiology, and course of normal birth, the challenges of difficult births and assistance interventions, the physiology and problems of the puerperium period, and the care and necessary interventions for the mother and offspring during the perinatal period.

PowerPoint-supported, oral visual presentation, and question-answer format.
Practical explanation using slaughterhouse materials.
Ensure better understanding of the lesson through question and answer sessions.
Address lingering questions and reinforce key points through discussions before and after the lesson.
Promote student interest and willingness to learn through research and presentation assignments to be given throughout the term.

Assessment Criteria

The student will be evaluated based on the questions asked in the midterm and final exams. Additionally, presentations and research assignments given throughout the term will be taken into account for the evaluation of the overall performance.

It is the student's responsibility to attend 70% of the theoretical courses during the semester. The course time and, if requested, the time specified for homework submission must be adhered to.
