Course Objective

The course aims to teach the use of drugs in animals with food value and drug residues in animal foods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   It expresses the professional responsibilities of veterinarians regarding drug residues. 2   List the negative effects of veterinary drug residues on humans and the food industry. 3   Explains the causes of veterinary drug residues in animal foods and the precautions to be taken. 4   Explains the prohibited drugs in animals with food value by giving examples.

Week Subject Description 1 Drug use in food animals and responsibilities of veterinarians, 2 The importance of drug residues, 3 residue, ineffective amount, 4 acceptable daily intake level, 5 trust factor, 6 tolerance level, 7 causes of ruins 8 residue-kinetic, 9 residual half-lives, 10 waiting time before slaughter, 11 Drugs that are prohibited and dangerous to use in animals with food value, 12 The effects of drug residues on consumers, 13 Monitoring of residues in animal foods, regulations regarding residues. 14 Monitoring of residues in animal foods, regulations regarding residues.
