Course Objective

It is aimed; to define the anatomy widely as a basic medical science, to teach the anatomical terms in accordance with Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria, and in this context, to provide a detailed anatomy knowledge of the structures that consist the locomotor system, digestive system, and respiratory system in comparison between animal species.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Use the terminology of anatomy which will be the basic principle of the veterinary medicine.
2   Learn the basic concepts of the systematic anatomy by studying the veterinary anatomy systematically.
3   Acquire the knowledge on the comparative macroanatomic structures of the organs in the locamotor, digestive and respiratory system of the domestic animals.
4   To be able to apply the knowledge which have been learned about the normal anatomy of domestic mammals in their pre-clinical and clinical courses.
5   Provides a strong basis to veterinary medicine.

1 Introduction to anatomy, introduction to osteology, classification of skeleton introduction to anatomy laboratory, biosecurity and rules to be followed in the laboratory The definition of anatomy and the terms of anatomy,general information on bones (the classification of the bones,the incision of a long bone,the holes and bulges on a bone).The definition of labaratory of anatomy, rules to be followed in the labaratory and biosafety guidelines. Ossa membri thoracici / Fore limb skeleton, scapula.
2 Skeleton appendiculare/ appendiculer skeleton, ossa membri thoracici / skeleton of fore limb Skeleton brachii, skeleton antebrachii, skeleton manus.
3 Ossa membri pelvini/ skeleton of hind limb Os coxae, skeleton femoris,patella, skeleton cruris,skeleton pedis.
4 Skeleton axiale/ axial skeleton, ossa cranii/ skull Neurocranium, viscerocranium, os hyoideum /hyoid bone

The responsibility for continuing 70% of the theoretical courses and 80% of the laboratory applications during the semester belongs to the student.
