Course Objective

The aim of this course is to recognize the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development of individuals in adolescence and to teach the principles, content, and methods of appropriate sexual education for individuals with special needs who may encounter specific challenges during this period. The course will enable students to develop appropriate intervention skills for sexual development, considering cultural sensitivity.

1   Explains the developmental characteristics of adolescence.
2   Defines the stages of sexual development.
3   Identifies the challenges faced by individuals with special needs during adolescence.
4   Understands the basic principles and ethical framework of sexual education.
5   Adapts sexual education content based on individual differences.
6   Develops sexual education practices using appropriate communication methods and materials.
7   Proposes strategies for ensuring cooperation among families, schools, and specialists.
8   Teaches concepts of privacy, boundaries, and personal safety.
