Course Objective

The course focuses on the reflections of migration on the social memory and lives of immigrants. The main purpose of the course is to analyze how immigrants, who are the subjects of migration, carry their pre-migration social memories to the places they go to, how they keep this memory alive, and the effects of these memories on their lives.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, students will be able to use immigration-related terminology effectively.
2   Toplumsal hafızaya ilişkin temel yaklaşımları kavrarlar.
3   They explain the relationship between migration, social memory and cultural life.
4   They analyze the relationship between social memory and culture and life in the context of world migrations.
5   They analyze the relationship between social memory and culture and life in the context of migration in Turkey.
