Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to provide students with a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to the functions of individual decision makers, both consumers and producers, within the economic system.

1   Express what economists mean by the concept of scarcity
2   Predict a change in market outcomes given a change in supply or demand
3   Identify the determinants of demand and supply.
4   Explain the concept of market types and equilibrium
5   Use marginal productivity theory to explain the distribution of income

Oral and written competencies regarding the use of knowledge, abilities and skills in the field of microeconomics in terms of research, investigation and evaluation will be evaluated.
