Course Objective

The course aims to conduct a detailed examination of productions resulting from the collaboration between cinema and literature. In addition to analyzing adaptations deemed successful or unsuccessful, it seeks to identify cinematic differences between adaptations of classic literary works and those of contemporary texts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to examine the relationship between cinema and literature within the context of interdisciplinary arts
2   To be able to address the debates on adaptation and original screenwriting in cinema.
3   To be able to discuss literary adaptations and audience interaction
4   To be able to analyze the examples of classic literary works adapted into film.
5   To be able to investigate the reasons behind cinema s selection of bestselling books for adaptation.
