Course Objective

The course aims to analyze films in which cities such as New York, Paris, Rome, or Istanbul become one of the main characters and examine their ability to define the film s texture. In addition it focuses on the impact of cinema on these cities and the impressions it creates on the audience.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to inform about the effect of the setting in film.
2   To be able to contribute to the awareness of the connection between the city and the cinematic texture.
3   To be able to explore cities such as New York, Paris or Istanbul through the eyes of directors.
4   To be able to explore the reflections of geography and human interaction in film.
5   5 To be able to analyze the city as a character in film.
