Course Objective

To raise awareness about information design, which is one of the working areas of graphic design, and to produce projects. Developing the point of view according to the informational design. Making visualizations so that statistics consisting of raw data can be easily followed and understood by all relevant users.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. To be able to understand the term data on behalf of information design and graphic design.
2   2. To be able to work well with visualization of datas and its esthetical beauty.
3   3. To be able to divide and run a natural process into sub divisions.
4   4. To be able to plan for each information design process.

Assessment Criteria

1. Projects must be developed in class and with the course instructor.
2. Projects must comply with the given briefs.
3. Projects must be internally consistent.
4. Projects must contain original ideas in their field.
5. Projects must have original visualizations.

Evaluation is conducted at the end of the semester in the form of a portfolio presentation to a jury. Students who are absent are not eligible to participate in the final jury. Students are required to submit a complete presentation file on the date and format announced by the department and to attend the presentation on the announced date. Students who fail to attend the presentation will fail the course. A one-time make-up jury session will be held for students who have the excuses specified in Article 32 of the DEU Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation. Students who are absent or fail to submit their presentations on time are not eligible to participate in the make-up jury.

Arrive on time to class and study in the studio. The submitted presentations and project drafts should be studied according to the calendar. Participation in the course is required.
