Course Objective

Course Objectives: This course aims to comprehensively address rehabilitation approaches and multidisciplinary care strategies in pelvic floor dysfunction in aging individuals. In this context, the course aims to provide students with knowledge of topics such as electrotherapy, manual therapy, sEMG biofeedback, pelvic floor muscle training and pelvic floor USG by addressing evidence-based practices in rehabilitation processes in pelvic floor dysfunction in elderly individuals.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1: Knows the functions, anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor in the elderly.
2   2. Knows what pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic floor muscle training are in the elderly
3   3. Applies evidence-based assessment parameters in pelvic floor dysfunction in the elderly
4   4. Knows and uses EMG and USG physiotherapy applications in pelvic floor dysfunction in the elderly
5   5. Knows and uses different treatment approaches used in pelvic floor dysfunction in the elderly
6   6. Knows and applies both assessment and physiotherapy in various pelvic floor dysfunctions in the elderly in the light of literature
