Course Objective

The course was planned to define the concepts of inflammation and autoimmune diseases and to share information on physiotherapy evaluation and rehabilitation practices in the management of common Rheumatic Diseases.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Knows the concepts of inflammation and autoimmune diseases, recognizes common rheumatic diseases, knows their basic features
2   2. Knows basic physiotherapy and rehabilitation assessment in rheumatic diseases,
3   3. Knows current physiotherapy and rehabilitation practices in rheumatic diseases,
4   4. Follows current literature in the rehabilitation of rheumatic diseases
5   5. Knows the rehabilitation team in the management of rheumatic diseases and knows the duties and responsibilities of the physiotherapist in the team.

1 Definition of Rheumatic Diseases, frequency prevalence, basic concepts.Disciplines involved in the rehabilitation team in the management of rheumatic diseases and the duties and responsibilities of the physiotherapist within the team

3 Physiotherapy Evaluation in Rheumatic Diseases
4 Chronic Pain Management in Rheumatic Diseases
5 Exercise Management in Rheumatic Diseases
6 Osteoarthritis and Rehabilitation
7 Rheumatoid Arthritis and Rehabilitation
8 Spondyloarthropathies and Rehabilitation
9 Osteoporosis and Rehabilitation
10 Fibromyalgia and Rehabilitation
11 Juvenile Rheumatic Diseases and Rehabilitation
12 Connective Tissue Diseases (SLE, Scleroderma, Myositis) and Rehabilitation
13 Rheumatic diseases with vascular involvement and Rehabilitation
