Course Objective

Within the scope of this course, it is aimed that students can make professional technical
drawings using computer programs and adapt to current technology.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can create a new drawing using the CAD interface effectively.
2   Draw technical drawings with 2D (two-dimensional) drawing commands in accordance with the standards.
3   Enhance and clarify drawings with editing, image control, layer, text and dimensioning commands.
4   Can draw orthographic, isometric and oblique views of objects using CAD.
5   Can make the drawings ready for printing and make the print settings correctly.
6   Can work in technical drawings in accordance with occupational safety, quality and environmental protection requirements.

1 Introduction and Basic Concepts- Introduction to AutoCAD, work safety, importance of technical drawing, general introduction of CAD software
2 Introduction to Interface and Command System-AutoCAD interface, command line, menus, file management.
3 Drawing Aids and Coordinate System-Coordinate systems, Object Snap, Grid, Ortho, Polar, Limits settings
4 Basic Drawing Commands I -Line, Circle, Rectangle, Polygon, Ellipse, Spline
5 Basic Drawing Commands II-Arc, Polyline, Point, Divide, Measure, Hatch
6 Editing Commands I -Copy, Move, Trim, Extend, Offset, Mirror, Rotate
7 Midterm exam
8 Editing Commands II -Scale, Stretch, Chamfer, Fillet, Break, Explode
9 Image Control and Page Management-Zoom, Pan, Redraw, screen edits
10 Text Commands-Text, Mtext, text styles and editing commands.
11 Dimensioning - Dimensioning types, Dimstyle, Dimedit, Dimscale, Leader
12 Layer Management-Layer logic, layer creation, color-line type-setting, Layer Tools
13 Block and Library Creation-Block, Edit Block, Insert, Minsert, block usage for design repetition
14 Isometric Drawing and Perspective-Isometric settings, isometric line/circle, dimensioning
15 Outputting and General Application-Plot settings, printer selection, scale, drawing layout, application example

Assessment Criteria

Meaningful learning of the basic concepts given in the courses, associating the concepts with each
other, establishing cause-effect relationships, interpreting and commenting on questions or
problems using their existing knowledge and evaluating the production of ideas will be realized by
midterm, final exam and practice exam.
