Course Objective

The aim is to teach the basic concepts of human biochemistry and to use these rules in professional life and to acquire basic knowledge sub-species.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe amino acid structure, classification, and metabolism
2   Knows the structure and classification of proteins.
3   Gains knowledge about protein metabolism.
4   Learn about the structure, storage, digestion and absorption of carbohydrates
5   Classify vitamins and minerals. Explain their structure and functions.
6   Be able to define enzyme and coenzyme. Be able to list the classifications and functions of enzymes.
7   Define what a lipid is. List its types. Explain the metabolism of lipids.
8   Describe the structure and functions of hemoglobin and myoglobin.
9   Describe the structure and functions of nucleic acids and compare the differences between them.
