Course Objective

Know their duties and responsibilities as a medical laboratory technician, medical laboratory dominated by routine clinical practice, the receipt of blood transfusion medicine and related units in accordance with the principle of safe blood is given to the patient throughout the entire process until the top laboratory practices knows, parasitology, hematology, endocrinology, pathology implement routine testing is to educate students in the fields.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains the basic methods used in genetic diagnostic tests.
2   Knows the basic principles of spectroscopic methods and defines in which analyses they are used.
3   Know the main quantitative analyses performed on urine samples and explain their clinical significance.
4   Defines body fluids, knows and applies analysis methods.
5   Knows the effect of analytical phase errors on test results in automation systems and analyzes error sources.
6   Knows and applies the methods used in bacterial identification.
7   Lists antibiogram test methods and evaluates antibiogram tests.
8   Knows and applies the principles of immunohematological tests used in blood banking.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Students gain knowledge of clinical laboratory practices through theoretical courses, have the opportunity to observe their theoretical knowledge at the DEU Hospital Central Laboratory, and apply the knowledge they have learned in a laboratory setting. While theoretical courses are delivered through face-to-face presentations, laboratory practices are taught through practical application in line with the learning objectives.
