Course Objective

It aims to examine the concept phenomenon in line with the cultural data affecting clothing fashion. In this context, it is expected to develop innovative design and creative application studies aimed at specialization in clothing design with cultural approaches.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Gaining knowledge by examining the influences of different cultures on clothing fashion in terms of design, form, fabric, material, technique and aesthetic values.
2   Gaining a creative, innovative and aesthetic design approach with cultural influences in clothing design.
3   Ability to analyze form, technique and material accurately during the application process and to develop production solutions using different mold techniques.
4   Gaining the ability to follow current fashion trends and produce original clothing designs with an innovative perspective.
5   Ability to turn the design into a product and present it.

2 Examining the concept phenomenon in line with the cultural data affecting clothing fashion. Preparation of presentation and design sheet.
3 Examining the effects of different cultures on clothing fashion with respect to design, form, fabric, material, technique and aesthetic values. Student presentations.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The lecturer informs the students about the course topics with references and directs them to research on cultural influences in clothing fashion. Design sketches are carried out for cultural influences determined in line with current fashion trends. During the application process, an original collection is created by conducting literature and visual resource research on techniques and materials.

Assessment Criteria

From a creative and innovative approach in line with cultural influences in clothing designs.
From the correct association of construction, material and application technique suitable for the clothing form.
Scoring is done on projects, homework etc. files.

1. Attendance at 80% of the class is mandatory.
2. Any attempt at plagiarism and actual acts will result in disciplinary action.
3. Not attending class will not be considered a valid excuse for late submission of homework and projects.
