Course Objective

The aim of this course is to deepen students knowledge of contemporary German literature and to analyze the literary representation of current social, environmental, and economic issues. Through various literary genres, students will develop their skills in literary analysis and interpretation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Identify major thematic and social trends in contemporary German literature
2   Analyze literary texts through the lens of literary theories
3   Discuss contemporary issues such as globalization, climate crisis, and economy in a literary context
4   Produce written literary criticism and deliver oral presentations
