Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the historical development and characteristics of these genres by examining certain genres and forms in Turkish folk literature in detail. In addition, by making formal analysis of the texts of folk literature, it is aimed to make students comprehend the similarities and differences between the genres.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To research and access to the sources about the forms and genres in Turkish Folk Literature
2   To evaluate the term and concept of Turkish Folk Literature
3   To be able to comment on the classification of Turkish Folk Literature
4   To comprehend the elements that determines the form and genre in Turkish Folk Literature
5   To be able to write the prose genres in Turkish Folk Literature
