Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine how the concepts of war and peace are addressed in history education, how wars are represented in textbooks, and how a culture of peace can be cultivated in students.

1   Analyze historical and pedagogical meanings of war and peace
2   Compare representations of war in textbooks from different countries
3   Evaluate how war is framed in history textbooks
4   Propose alternative narratives in the context of peace education
5   Design instructional strategies to foster peace consciousness in students
