Course Objective

This is an introductory course to business that aims to enable learners to gain a better understanding of the business environment, operations of the business and the functions of business.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate understanding of the structure and dynamics of business environments; how businesses seek to track and analyze their environments.
2   Be aware of the primary issues in business ethics, social responsibility and sustainable development goals
3   Learn how the business plan is a foundational tool for developing and managing a successful business.
4   Demonstrate an understanding of the functions of business.
5   To be able to improve communication skills.

Assessment Criteria

Mid-Term Exam: It will consist of questions to assess whether the basic concepts and terminology of the business have been learned or not.

Final Exam: Final exam will be composed of the basic concepts and terminology of the business.
