Course Objective

Within the scope of the course, it is aimed for students to recognize the concepts of gender and gender equality; to be aware of the possible negative effects of violence against women and men, sexism; to have knowledge and awareness about what women and men can do to prevent discrimination and violence. Students will learn the importance and effects of gender in terms of health services, will produce ideas and make presentations to spread gender equality in society and university and to prevent gender inequality.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Raising awareness of gender equality.
2   Taking measures against violence against women and men and domestic violence, sensitizing students and ensuring personal transformation in this context.
3   Strengthening the socio-economic position of women.
4   To learn the theoretical approaches that examine gender inequalities.
5   Students will have knowledge about the actions they can take to promote gender equality and prevent gender inequality.

9 Glass ceiling syndrome in the field of health services and measures that can be taken.
10 Studies and measures taken within the scope of taking necessary actions in the fulfillment of national and international legal responsibilities and in health services within the scope of gender equality, violence against women and men and combating domestic violence in the world and in Turkey.
