Course Objective

The aim of this course is to equip students with the necessary skills to perform sales, purchasing, accounting, inventory control, production planning, material requirements planning, and capacity planning operations through a real ERP software by using the relevant modules, supported with practical applications and case studies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To gain knowledge about the modular structure of an ERP software, the relationships/interactions among its modules, and the complete ERP cycle.
2   To acquire the ability to perform product sales and raw material purchasing transactions, conduct inventory control, carry out forecasting, and develop the master production schedule using a real ERP software.
3   To develop the competence to complete the MRP cycle and schedule work orders through the advanced production planning module of a real ERP software.
4   To acquire the ability to perform capacity planning and assembly line balancing using a real ERP software.
5   To prepare production reports by utilizing the relevant ERP modules in line with the term project guidelines, and to develop skills in writing effective reports and presenting them.
