Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to provide students with a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to the functions of individual decision makers, both consumers and producers, within the economic system.

1   Express what economists mean by the concept of scarcity
2   Predict a change in market outcomes given a change in supply or demand
3   Identify the determinants of demand and supply
4   Explain the concept of market types and equilibrium
5   Use marginal productivity theory to explain the distribution of income
