Course Objective

Ex-libris is an important communication tool. Although it was born as a necessity graphic, they are original works made with aesthetic concerns. Ex libris is the Latin phrase often used to describe a book label or a statement of ownership, usually on the inside of the book cover or on one of the first pages, which identifies and glorifies the owner and warns the borrower to return the book. The aim of this course for students is to get profession in this art form.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows contemporary print art, works of print artists, printing techniques and printing tools
2   Knows the concept of ex-libris
3   knows the historical development process of the concept of ex-libris
4   creates new products based on work samples.
