Course Objective

This course aims to reinforce the techniques, knowledge and skills gained in previous courses in instrument education through improvisational studies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the basic elements of improvisational playing
2   Ability to develop musical skills on the instrument through improvisational playing
3   Ability to develop technical skills on the instrument through improvisational playing
4   Ability to use the improvisation skills learned in performing works that are appropriate for the national and international level of qualification.
5   Ability to evaluate the knowledge and skills acquired regarding improvisation with a critical approach
6   Ability to plan creative activities related to improvisation, appropriate to the level of the instrument
7   Willingness to learn new topics related to improvisation and being motivated to improve oneself

6 Simple melodic improvisation exercises with 2-3-4 pitch jumps
7 Simple melodic improvisation exercises with 5-6-7-8 pitch jumps
8 Mid- term exam
9 Improvisation exercises in simple rhythm patterns
10 Improvisation exercises in simple and advanced rhythm patterns
11 free improvisation exercises on well-known melodies
12 free improvisation exercises on well-known melodies
13 free improvisation exercises in simple musical forms
14 free improvisation exercises in simple musical forms
15 Final Exam
