Course Objective

To enable the student to gain control over the double bass, both technically and musically, to play in national and international orchestras and chamber music groups, and to give solo concerts. To enable the student to internalize the concepts of self-development and lifelong learning by providing a critical perspective on his/her own work and the work of others, also by benefiting from musical sub-disciplines.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can improve double bass playing technique and musicality.
2   Can create unique exercises to overcome individual difficulties in the pieces studied.
3   Can interpret pieces written in different musical forms for double bass, suitable for class level, with appropriate techniques.
4   Can plan activities by taking responsibility for projects related to the performance of the pieces he/she interprets.
5   Can apply different playing techniques that emerge in new pieces written for double bass
