Course Objective

Singing appropriate level of works with the right sound and breath connection, performing work in accordance with the musical Dynamics, showing appropriate concert performance.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn the techniques of posture in the choir, relaxation exercises, breathing correctly, 2   Learn the techniques of using sound correctly and producing high-quality sound, 3   Learn the use Turkish properly, enhance the understanding of the characteristics of speaking and singing, 4   Enhance the ability of making music for collective singing. Create a repertoire about Turkish and the world chorus literature.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description 1 1. Exercises to strengthen breathing with physical relaxation, sound production exercises. 2 2. Resonance studies for the integrity of the sound in the choir and gaining timbre, studies on sample composition. 3 3. Clearance in spoken language and studies to improve intelligibility qualifications, studies on sample composition. 4 4. Studies on correct and clear sound production, exercises to combine bottom-middle and upper sound regions, studies on sample composition. 5 5. Listening to introductory musical works about the world chorus literature, studies on sample compositions. 6 6. Activities designed to improve musicality, making studies on sample compositions. 7 7. Efforts to eliminate articulation defaults of speaking. 8 8. Studies on solving difficulties encountered in when extending borders of bottom and upper voice in sound groups, studies on sample composition. 9 9. Midterm Exam 10 10. Studies to gain choral timbre, studies on sample composition. 11 11. Studies for technical and musical development on the works which are thought. 12 12. Studies on solving rhythm and interval problems, studies on sample composition. 13 13. Performing the works which are taught in group of four and eight and evaluation of them. 14 14. General revision of the whole works to prepare for the final exam.
