Course Objective

Singing appropriate level of works with the right sound and breath connection, performing work in accordance with the musical Dynamics, showing appropriate concert performance.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn the techniques of posture in the choir, relaxation exercises, breathing correctly,
2   Learn the techniques of using sound correctly and producing high-quality sound,
3   Learn the use Turkish properly, enhance the understanding of the characteristics of speaking and singing,
4   Enhance the ability of making music for collective singing.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Practices for increasing breathing pressure and physical relaxation exercises.
2 Sound generation and transmission activities (appropriate exercises according to the characteristics of voice groups), studies on sample composition.
3 Singing leaato and sound generation exercises, studies on sample composition.
4 Development of resonance, voice production, sample composition.
5 Practices for increasing the level of being understood in oral speech, sound generation and transmission, sample composition.
6 Singing staccato exercises, sample composition.
7 Studies on sample composition by listening introductory works about choral literature of the world.
8 Studies on increasing urgency at the act of speaking and singing, sample composition.
9 Midterm Exam
10 Studies on discovering characteristic features of soprano, alto, tenor and bass.
11 Activities designed to improve musicality during interpretation of the works, studies on sample composition.
12 Making technical and musical studies to get a nice choral timbre for the works practiced.
13 Efforts to eliminate articulation defaults of speaking.
14 Making singing, listening and evaluation studies with the groups of four.
