Course Objective

This course aims to reinforce the skills learned in Position I in violin playing, to practice complex bow techniques in the right hand, to work on different left hand skills on four strings, and to move on to a new position.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to perform various finger dropping and acceleration exercises in the current position.
2   They learn trill position on the flute and perform them.
3   They practise on musical cadances.
4   They notice contemporary etudes and play them.
5   They play pieces which accompanied by piano and solo pieces.
6   Ability to apply mixed bow uses involving four strings permanently and transitionally in the new position learned.
7   To understand the basic information about vibrato.

Course Contents

1 Position control, demonstration of different bow exercises.
2 Development of bow and articulation studies.
3 Investigating technical points of the piece.
4 Practising on piece and etudes.
5 Practising scales
6 Playing etudes that will support the scales which were learnt last lesson.
7 Term Examination.
8 Practises on musical expressions of the piece.
9 Repeating scales
10 Playing scales with different articulations techniques.
11 Control of playing position.
12 Practising on piece and etudes.
13 Practises on intonation and articulation techniques.
14 General practises.
15 Final exam.
