Course Objective

To understand the correct diaphragm breathing, apply the correct diaphragm breathing, produce the right sound, be able to make musical voice correctly and jointly, be able to sing choral works in harmony.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn the techniques of posture in the choir, relaxation exercises, breathing correctly,
2   Learn the techniques of using sound correctly and producing high-quality sound,
3   Learn the use Turkish properly, enhance the understanding of the characteristics of speaking and singing,
4   Enhance the ability of making music for collective singing.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 What is choir Posture in the choir, breathing techniques, the importance and protection of health voice.
2 Physical relaxation, breathing (with phonation or not), sound generation and dissemination activities, studies on sample composition.
3 Sound generation activities (activities about minor intervals and sıra voices), activities about sound usage and production in the right place, studies on sample composition.
4 Tongue and speech exercises, sound-breath-word connection studies.
5 Teaching the regions of resonance and resonance development, studies on sample composition.
6 Using Turkish properly, the effects of music to language and the effects of language to music, studies to improve the quality of being understood in oral speech, studies on sample composition.
7 Studies on atlamalı intervals with vowel and consonants, studies on sample composition.
8 Studies on development of urgency for tongue, studies on sample composition.
9 MIDTERM EXAM
10 Tone and timbre studies among sound groups, studies on sample composition.
11 Studies for gaining an effective singing and musical interpretation skill, studies on sample composition.
12 Studies for the purpose of vibrancy, speed and using volume ranges, and articulation. Studies on sample composition.
13 Factors affecting intonation in performing musical works, studies on sample composition.
14 Studies for gaining behaviours required for choral discipline, choral culture and choral-conductor harmony.
