Course Objective

This course aims to teach fieldwork methods and techniques used in folk literature studies, evaluate the functions and transformations of folk literary products in contemporary society, and discuss the concept of cultural continuity.

1   Students will explain the stages and techniques of the compilation process.
2   Students will be able to plan and conduct fieldwork.
3   Students will analyze modern representations of folk literature
4   Students will evaluate traditional genres in the context of cultural continuity and transformation.

Assessment Criteria

Students will be required to take a midterm exam and a final exam as part of the course. The format of these exams (written, multiple choice, etc.) will be announced to students by the instructor during the week prior to the exam week.
