Course Objective

This course aims to examine the impact of Sufi thought on folk literature and explore the works of dervish poets within historical, sociological, and aesthetic dimensions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will explain the key concepts of religious-mystical literature.
2   Students will identify poetic forms used in dervish poetry.
3   Students will evaluate major dervish poets and their works.
4   Students will analyze the social functions of Sufi texts.

Assessment Criteria

Students will be required to take a midterm exam and a final exam as part of the course. The format of these exams (written, multiple choice, etc.) will be announced to students by the instructor during the week prior to the exam week.
