Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the structural, functional, and thematic aspects of anonymous folk literature genres such as myth, legend, fairy tale, epic, folk tale, joke, proverb, and idiom.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to define genres of anonymous folk literature.
2   Students will explain the structural and functional features of each genre.
3   Students will analyze oral narrative characteristics in anonymous texts.
4   Students will conduct intertextual comparisons.
