Course Objective

To enable students to comprehend the literary value and cultural reflections of prose genres in folk literature by examining their characteristics, formal and content dimensions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the types and characteristics of prose in folk literature.
2   Analyze the structural and thematic characteristics of prose genres such as epics, folk stories, anecdotes and tales.
3   Explain the relationship between folk prose and oral culture.
4   Evaluate the place of folk literature prose genres in Turkish culture and literature.
5   Discuss examples of folk literature prose in the context of modern literature and culture
