Course Objective

This course aims to provide students with basic concepts and principles related to spiritual counseling; spirituality, ethics, psychological counseling and psychotherapy; to introduce spiritual counseling in the context of multicultural counseling and to introduce mourning, emotional regulation, conscious awareness, well-being, altruism, forgiveness, resistance, authenticity; spiritual measurement, ethics in spiritual counseling in the context of spiritual counseling.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains basic concepts related to spiritual counseling.
2   Discusses the relationship between psychology, psychotherapy and spirituality.
3   Interprets holistic therapy focused on spirituality.
4   Discusses the understanding of psychotherapy in Eastern and Western cultures.
5   Examines the concepts of mourning, emotional regulation, conscious awareness, well-being, altruism, forgiveness, resistance, authenticity; spiritual measurement in the context of spiritual counseling.
6   Develop an understanding of ethics in spiritual counseling.
