Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enable students to develop an understanding of the structure of psychological tests, their development stages, how they are used and evaluated.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehend the structure and use of psychological tests.
2   Distinguishes psychological tests within the scope of psychological counseling, psychiatry and clinical psychology.
3   Explain the stages of psychological test development.
4   Distinguishes various developmental/intelligence/personality tests.
5   Knows the basic statistical methods used in the evaluation of psychological tests.
6   Interprets psychological test results by adhering to ethical rules.

8 Validity: Definition, ways of determining validity, types of validity
9 Measurement of intelligence and psychological tests (Stanford-Binet intelligence test, Weschsler intelligence tests for different age groups, Anadolu Sak (ASIS) intelligence test, Leiter international performance test)
10 Measurement of intelligence and psychological tests (Stanford-Binet intelligence test, Weschsler intelligence tests for different age groups, Anadolu Sak (ASIS) intelligence test, Leiter international performance test)
11 Assessment of development in various developmental areas and psychological tests (AGTE, Denver II developmental screening test, Peabody picture word test, Metropolitan school readiness test)
12 Measurement of personality and psychological tests (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), Five Factor Personality Inventory, Hacettepe Personality Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Identifier, 16-Factor Personality Test)
