Course Objective

he candidates of English language teachers with their acquired language skills and teaching practice experience can analyse the unity and coherence in different genres by studying the real-language usage through this course. By analysing the place of unity and coherence in the texts in language teaching, they can discuss the contribution of them to the language teaching. They can explain the connection between
textual analysis language teaching.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To introduce the selected texts and the approaches of the study of textual analysis
2   To analyse the different features of the language usage of the texts
3   To introduce `thought tracking techniques to analyse the texts
4   Development of psychological, historical and sociological awareness
