Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine mass communication media such as newspapers and magazines, as well as online platforms like social media; to explore their types and characteristics; to understand the specific language features used in English in international mass media; and to develop the skills to use them effectively.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Recognizes both print and electronic international mass communication media such as newspapers and magazines, along with their types.
2   Knows the specific language features used in English in international mass media and develops the skills to use them.
3   Evaluate the validity and reliability of news and articles in mass media by comparing them with different perspectives and societies.
4   Analyze, through examples, how the target language uses its linguistic features to reflect its own culture.
