Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce allophones, suprasegmental phonemes, train students to identify, recognize and articulate syllable, word and sentence stress, intonation and rhythm, phonological rules, phonological processes.

1   Identify and articulate suprasegmental phonemes accurately.
2   Understand major phonological rules of English.
3   Understand major phonological processes of English.
4   Understand and articulate fast connected speech.
