Course Objective

The aim of this course is to help students develop the ability to make inferences through inductive and deductive reasoning and to understand implicit meanings; to analyze the information in reading texts in order to grasp literal and figurative meanings, both direct and indirect; to express their personal opinions about the texts they read in short oral and written form; and to gain the ability to understand that the meaning derived by the reader may differ from the meaning intended by the author.

3   To adjust attentional starategies according to the materials being read
4   To receive the contrasting ideas from the writer s argument
