Course Objective

The aim of this course is to address and examine the fundamental approaches, methods, and techniques used in German language teaching such as the Communicative Approach (Kommunikative Methode), the Intercultural Approach (Interkultureller Ansatz), and Cognitive Learning (Kognitive Methode) and to present practical examples of their application.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Identify basic approaches in foreign language teaching, methods and techniques
2   Differentiate approaches in foreign language teaching in their historical development based on various factors.
3   Distinguish between different approaches.
4   Analyze the approaches used by different course books in understanding and analyzing the relationship between the methods and the course book materials.
5   Prepare teaching materials using different teaching approaches.

The success of the student is determined by the midterm and final exam grades. Apart from this, there is no special evaluation criterion.
