Course Objective

The aim of this course is to develop the ability of the prospective teachers studing at the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology regarding using English for professional purposes. With this in mind, they are asked to read and analyse computer related texts and acquire the computer jargon.

1   To be able to use several reading strategies while reading computer related texts
2   To be able to guess the meanings of computer related vocabulary
3   To be able to understand what the words refer to in a context
4   To be able to guess the content of computer related text by looking at its title
5   To be able to guess the main idea of a computer related text
6   To be able to answer questions about a computer related text
7   To be able to use punctuation marks and other symbols in a computer related text
