Course Objective

The aim of this course is to recognize students the history, provide them to think about the definitions, aims, importance for society and basic problems in connection with this importance of history and develop a historical perspective.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Write different definitions of history.
2   List the purposes of history.
3   Explain the benefits of history.
4   Analyze the effects of the relation between history, historian and society on historiography.
5   Discuss the quality of historical knowledge.
6   Gain the moral basis and objectivity of historiography as a value.
7   Interpret the developments in historiography in the world and Türkiye.
