Course Objective

The aim of this course is to help preservice science teachers examine and evaluate the science textbooks in terms of content, visuals, design, and appropriateness to students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Assessing the consistency of content of science texbooks with science education curricula.
2   Comprehending the basic principles of science textbook review.
3   Evaluating the science textbooks in terms of content, language, and visual design.
4   Comprehending the writing, selection and distribution process of science textbooks by the Ministry of Education.
