Course Objective

This course aims to examine the relationship between language and thought from philosophical, cognitive, and linguistic perspectives. It seeks to enable students to question how language shapes thought, how thought influences language, and how different languages affect the perception of reality.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can explain the interaction between language and thought.
2   Can analyze the views of various thinkers on this subject.
3   Can evaluate language as a medium of thought.
4   Can discuss the role of language in the formation of concepts.
5   Can comprehend the impact of structural differences among languages on cognition.
6   Can interpret basic theories in the philosophy of language and cognitive linguistics.
