Course Objective

This course aims to examine the historical and contemporary prevalence of Turkish, in relation to language policies, and to analyze its cultural influence across various geographies. The course also seeks to raise students awareness about the international function, prestige, and cultural transmission role of the Turkish language.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the historical expansion processes of Turkish.
2   Identify the regions and variants of Turkish worldwide.
3   Analyze the cultural impact of Turkish in various fields.
4   Evaluate Turkish language policies in both historical and contemporary contexts.
5   Interpret the international status and perception of the Turkish language.
